Camp Mattatuck FAQs

Open Programs

Day to Day Camp Life - 

Q: Where can I find a list of open programs?
A: www.CampMattatuck.org/openprograms

Q: When are meal times?
A: 8am Breakfast, 11:30am - 1pm rolling lunch, 6pm Dinner
Q: When do open programs take place?
A: Daily between 4pm-5pm and 6:45pm-7:30pm (for a list of open programs see the button above) 
Q: My Scout needs to be picked up from Camp during the week, what do I do?
A: Make the Unit leader aware, they will be the ones to notify the Camp of the planned departure. ​

Visitors in Camp - 

Q: Do visitors have to sign in? 
A: Yes, for any reason or length of time. (with the exception of Friday visitors night) 
Q: What day is Family/Visitors Night
A: Friday Evening
Q: What time does Family/Visitors night start?
A: The buffet opens at 4:30pm, guests should begin to arrive no earlier than 4pm
Q: What is the menu for Family/Visitors night?
A: Hot dogs, burgers, chips, watermelon 
Q: How much are tickets for the buffet?
A: $10 per person 
Q: Where can I purchase tickets?
A: The Camp Trading Post (Cash & Card accepted) 
Q: What are the scheduled events for Family/Visitor night?
A: Buffet runs from 4:30pm - 7pm, Camp wide Court of Honor is at 7:15pm outside the DH around the flag pole, Camp wide campfire begins at 8pm in the Amphitheater. 
Q: Can I drive into Camp?
A: Not without authorization from the Camp Director, Ranger or Program Director (anyone who drives into camp without authorization will be considered a trespasser) 

Merit Badge Info - 

Q: When do Scouts sign up for Merit Badges?
A: Scouts MUST sign up for Merit Badges prior to arriving at Camp. (If a Scout/Unit waits to insert Scouts into the Blackpug system until the Sunday of their week they risk not receiving BlueCards when the week ends) 
Q: When will digital BlueCards be available? 
A: The Sunday after a Scout's week at Camp
Q: How many Merit Badges should a Scout take?
A: We recommend three a week
Q: My Scout wants to switch merit badges and we can no longer edit the registration, what do I do?
A: Go to the main office and request a Merit Badge switch (this is only an option during the Scouts week at camp) 
Q: I cannot figure out how to insert my Scouts into merit badges, what do I do?
A: Call Connecticut Rivers Council ((860) 913-2700) 

Sending Mail to Camp - 

Q: What is Camp Mattatucks address?
A: Camp Mattatuck, 221 Mount Tobe Rd. Plymouth CT 06782
Q: I sent my Scout mail and it arrived at Camp after my Scout had already left, what do we do? 
A: Call the office (860) 283 - 9577 to verify the package is there, then set up a time to retrieve the package. (Camp Mattatuck is not responsible for any lost, stolen or misplaced mail/packages). 
Q: How does my Scout know their package has arrived? 
A: Your Scout's Unit leader should periodically check the main office mail slots for their Units mail. 

Camp Photos - 

Q: How much is a Unit photo?
A: $10 per photo
Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: Cash, check or Venmo 
Q: When should payment be made?
A: Payment and photo ordering must be done with the Photographer the moment the photo is taken (Tuesday nights before dinner)
