Thomas J. Horan Scholarship
Each year, the Mattatuck Volunteers present a set of scholarships in memory of our longtime Camp Director, Scoutmaster, and dear friend, the late Tom "Toot" Horan.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance for college-aged Mattatuck staff members who continue to return to camp each summer. It is a recognition of their hard work and willingness to do things "the Mattatuck Way" and a way to help offset financially what they may get from other summer employment. The current scholarship is $500 for the first year, $750 for each of the second and third years, and $1,000 for the final year of one's schooling. The past winners have been great representatives of the the Camp Mattatuck experience.
