About Us

Mission

Our mission is to deliver on that of Scouting America: "to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law".

The Scout Oath is: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

The Scout Law is: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Why Mattatuck?

Mattatuck Scout Reservation is located in Plymouth, CT, just outside of Waterbury. We're a 569 acre property with access to two lakes, . Some highlights of our program features include a 40-foot climbing tower (featured in the Climbing merit badge pamphlet), 3 high ropes courses, four zip lines, a canopy tour over our main lake, a BMX course, rifle, archery, and shotgun ranges, and more. We eat our meals in Rotary Dining Hall, sleep in one of eleven summer campsites, enjoy programs in eight different department areas, raise the colors, and use the methods of Scouting to deliver on its aims.
