Our troop campsites are spread along the eastern edge of Lake Kenosha, set apart from the central area of camp by a short walk. The sites are furnished with two-man wall tents for Scouts and a four-man wall leaders’ tent. The sites also come with enought tarps and picnic tables to meet your troop's gathering needs. All campsites are located close to a latrine and several of our campsites have showers. Our campsites are also within short walking distances to camp’s program areas. See our central area map for exact locations of the campsites.
Mail is delivered every day to camp.

Camp Mattatuck's Health Lodge is covered 24 hours a day during the summer season by a registered nurse. If a scout or adult has to take medication during camp, the Camp Nurse must dispense it (State of CT rules for youth camps). All medication for scouts and adults is to be checked in during the medical recheck on Sunday.
If a serious problem occurs outside camp and a scout or adult needs to be reached, the Camp Office should be called. The number is (860) 283-9577 and a message will be given to the person when they are located. When you arrive at camp, you will receive information in the use of the troop fireguard plan and the various Emergency Procedures used at camp.
Program Planning Meeting
Youth leaders and adult leaders attend a Program Planning Meeting the Tuesday before they arrive at camp in order to schedule troop activities and share important information with the staff. Troops can get a sample of the programs for the week they are attending camp. Scoutmasters have the chance to speak with camp administration about any questions they have about the camp process.
For any questions about Program Planning call the Camp Office at (860) 283-9577.
When a scout is signed out of camp a unit leader must be present with the scout at the camp office, to help verify who is picking up the scout and so the staff sees that the troop is aware the scout is leaving. The person picking up the scout may be asked to show photo identification.
Unit pictures are taken on Tuesday at 5:00 PM in the amphitheater. Scouts may order a copy of their unit’s photo through their Scoutmaster for $10. Scoutmasters must deliver orders and money to Camp office by Monday evening. Pictures may be picked up by unit leaders before leaving Camp at the end of the week.
