Camp Mattatuck 2015 Boy Scout Summer Camp Programs
Boy Scout Resident Camp July 5-11, July 12-18, July 19-25, July 26-August 1, August 2-8, 2015 Camp Mattatuck has 5 weeks of top quality summer camp programs. There is something for everyone. First and second year scouts will start off their summer camp experience learning scout skills and working on their Tenderfoot through First Class requirements. Everyone gets to experience swimming, canoeing, boating, rifle, and archery. Other highlights are the Blob and the Lilypads on our private lake, Trial by Fire at Scoutcraft and the ever popular Slime Crawl. Scouts 13 and older can participate in special Adventure Treks such as Mountain Biking, Climbing at the White Cliffs and on the greatest Climbing Tower in the Northeast, Spar Pole Climbing, and Whitewater tubing. Scouts 14 and older can participate in our teambuilding and leadership on the COPE course, as well as take advantage of shotgun and muzzle loading opportunities. Citizenship Day July 25, 2015 This is an opportunity to work on some of the requirements for Citizenship in the World and Citizenship in the Nation merit badges. Some prerequisite work is required for completion of these badges. S.T.E.M. Nova Program July 23-24, 2015 This is an opportunity to work on some of the requirements for the STEM NOVA award. 2015 Cub Adventure Programs Cub Scout Day Camp July 6-10, July 13-17, July 20-24, 2015 Camp Mattatuck has 3 weeks of the most popular day camp in the council. Walk across the drawbridge and join in the medieval fun for this year’s theme. These fun activities will keep your scouts happy and busy. Cub Scout Mini Weeks July 19-21, 2015 and July 26-28, 2015 They are great as an introduction to overnight camping for Cubs and their adult partner. You will get to take part in all the program areas at camp and add a few new adventures beyond the Day Camp experience. Cub/Family Camp July 25-26, 2015 This 24 hour program is great for all Cub Scouts and their families. This allows Scouts to get a taste of what summer camp is like without the worries of being away for too long. You can participate in swimming, boating, archery, BB’s, fishing and an evening campfire. You will be staying in our tents in our summer campsites. A great time will be had by all. Cub and Webelos Resident Camp July 5-11, July 12-18, July 19-25, July 26-August 1, 2015 A fully packed week for Cubs and Webelos who are ready to spend more time at camp. The adventure continues as you add more activities in a week long program. The Connecticut DEEP (Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) has removed the ban on transporting firewood throughout the state.
