Don't bring firewood to camp

With the recent invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer and the Asian Long Horned Beetle into parts of the state, we have been asked to stop the bringing of firewood into camp.

There is plenty of downed wood on the camp property that can be cut by scouts using a bow saw.

Chain saws are not permitted.

2009-04-04 New Ranger's Workshop update

After a long winter of very hard work, the new Workshop for the Ranger is nearing completion. 99% of the interior is done and we are waiting for nicer weather to finish the site work outside. It's a really nice building.

Lots going on in Leever Lodge. Plumbing, Electrical, Heating etc. But one of the tougher and more interesting things is a decision on how we will light the great room. We'll be installing 8 of these wagon wheels lights in the main room with various sets on switches and dimmers.

2009-02-14 Leever Lodge Update

Leever Lodge is coming along. The interior walls are studded out, plumbing and electric are being installed.

Note the completed metal roof, good for 50+ years.

One of the bathrooms. There will be three showers in each of the two main bathrooms.

All these pictures were taken of Saturday, 2/14/09. They show the huge progress with the interior walls of the New Ranger's Workshop and Storage area.

The Rangers Office

Ranger's office, the door leads outside.

The bathroom and shower which will be in the building.

This is in the main shop area. The left foor goes to the Rangers office and the bathroom. The right door is to one of the small storage rooms.

This looks from the main area toward a vehicle bay with it's own garage door. Behind the lift is the other storage room / mechanical room.

2009-01-10 New Rangers Shop update

Lots of progress made on the new Rangers Workshop.

The whole building, remember it's 100 ft long.

Our proud Ranger showing off the new building. We're in what will be the storage section. The dividing wall will be between the smaller garage door and the people door, across the whole building with a set of double doors connecting to the shop.

2009-01-10 Leever Lodge Update

After lots of hard work the interior walls are taking shape.

Leever Lodge in winter, it's a good looking building.

This is one of the two bunk rooms (12 people) looking into one of the bathrooms.

The Great Room, looking a lot like a lumber yard. Toward the back you can see the wall going up for the kitchen and mechanical room.
